Result Analysis Grids |
Analysts spend a lot of time looking at data - from raw data when they are getting familiar with a problem to final polished results for presentation. QiD provides a huge range of features to assist with looking at data in different ways. From simple grids with sorting, filtering, grouping and sub-totals to pivot tables, charts and reports. All of these features work on the results of queries and mean that you can look at data in different ways without changing SQL and re-running the queries. You also stay within the one environment and connected to the original data instead of having to break the connection and step into spreadsheets or other analysis tools. All of the analysis tools present a range of options for exporting results in different formats for publication or other use. Normal GridThe traditional row and column layout is the default. QiD adds many features to let you better view and understand your data. Columns can be re-sized, re-arranged or excluded. Sorting can be specified on single or multiple columns. Filtering allows you to view selected subsets of the whole result set. Advanced grouping allows you to collapse the data by any single or multiple nested columns to reveal hierarchies and relationships. Aggregate functions can be applied in a grid or group footer to show column Min, Max, Sum, Count etc. Vertical GridThis is a specialised grid type for better viewing wide result sets. By displaying the result columns down the page and the rows across, you can see the values for a given row more concisely. No more scrolling left and right across tables with scores of columns.
Pivot GridA fully featured pivot grid capability allows you to turn data around and compare one column or set of columns to another column or set of columns. Multiple data cells can appear at the intersection. Totals and grand totals are provided automatically. The data can be filtered and nested columns can be expanded or collapsed. Drill-through allows you to see what row data is summarised by any cell including the sub-totals and totals. Pivot grids can be created and altered dynamically or can be pre-defined through the Script .Export command.
